When I first moved to the United States from Romania, I was starting over in a country that was completely new to me.

I had to learn English, understand how things worked, build a career, navigate immigration, and figure out all the little everyday things that nobody thinks to explain.

Some things were difficult. Some were confusing. And some still make me laugh today. 😂

But little by little, America started to feel like home.

That's why I created Making America Home — a place where I can share what I've learned, the mistakes I've made, the things that surprised me, and the places I'm still discovering.

Not because I have all the answers.

But because sometimes having someone say, “I've been there too — here's what helped me,” can make starting over feel a little easier.

My journey didn't end when I learned how things worked.

I'm still exploring this country, experiencing new places, learning new things, and occasionally asking myself, “Wait... Americans do WHAT?” 😂

And I'm bringing you along with me.
